Professional Certificate in Health Law
(CIHLaw)
The Calder Institute Certificate in Health Law is intended to be more focused than other short courses on health and medical law knowledge for leaders and managers in aged care, disability, mental health and other healthcare settings.
Unlike the type of law courses you encounter at universities, this short course is built entirely on case studies to enhance your learning experience. It is practically relevant from the first moment you open each module. We have designed the material so it flows in a logical manner, is accessible and less complicated to understand, without ‘dumbing it down’. It is important that graduates of this course in particular have a solid understanding of why certain laws exist, how they operate, and what this means in terms of leading a healthcare organisation.
By the end, you’ll know how to identify compliance gaps, respond to audits with confidence, and promote a culture of continuous improvement. It’s about making sure good care happens every day, and being proud of the systems that make it possible. This course is directly relevant to these areas of practice:
Disability / NDIS
Aged Care
Mental Health
Allied Health
Advocacy Practice
Other health and community services organisations, including Specialist and General Practice medical clinic managers.
